"To Preserve Mizunara Trees for Future Generations" - Support from Organizations Planting Mizunara Trees
Members, both now and in the future, of this organization that supports the planting of Mizunara trees will contribute to the world of whisky enthusiasts and the future Japanese whisky industry.
One of the significant characteristics of Japanese whisky that has been recognized worldwide is Mizunara. To realize the desire of preserving the tradition of whisky-making using Mizunara oak barrels for future generations, a proposal was made for planting Mizunara saplings and donating to related activities at the "Tree Planting Gathering" organized by the Forestry Promotion Office of Kofu City, Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan, the hometown of Seiichi Koshimizu.
The purpose of our community, "In," was explained, and we received a warm understanding from Kofu City, Yamanashi Prefecture. We reached an agreement with the Mayor of Kofu City, the Deputy Mayor, and the Forestry Promotion Office.
As a result, we have taken the first step in fulfilling our commitment with our members, which involves donating a portion of their annual membership fees for the purpose of contributing to the future Japanese whisky industry. It is a source of great joy for our community that we can make contributions to Yamanashi Prefecture, where Seiichi Koshimizu grew up, and where the Hakushu Distillery is located, in this manner.
We hope to continue working hand in hand with our members to leave behind Mizunara trees for future generations and create an environment where whisky aged in Mizunara barrels can be enjoyed indefinitely.

In October and November 2023, we plan to enter into an agreement with Kofu City, and the actual planting of Mizunara trees is scheduled for April 2024. Regarding the tree planting, we also plan to recruit the participation of our members, and we will provide further announcements at a later date.
